once upon a time, Coachella was not an annual event that people mostly associated with recognizable celebrities adorned in suede fringe frolicking about in the desert. It is a music festival, after all, and it used to just be about indie bands, and not Steely Dan and The Black Eyed Peas. (I’m not joking, both of those bands actually headlined this year.) In a much different Internet era, the idea talking about the handbags of Coachella would’ve seemed laughable (and it would’ve completely obliterated your indie cred).
